OMG! I am so sorry to hear of Phil’s passing. I Just heard about it tonight. My condolences to his family. I grew up on the same street & I love the Stanley Family. Rest I peace Phil. Give my love to Mern & your parents.

Phil was a long time childhood friend and this news of his passing saddens me greatly. After my Dad had died, Phil's father used to take us on plane rides in his private plane and, yes, would even let us fly it!! Great memories I have of Phil and his family. Always laughing and making everyone around him smile. We grew apart as he went on with his life as did I but I've always thought of Phil as he was one of the good guys from our childhood. He will be sorely missed. His family should know he was a one of a kind friend and it's no surprise he left a legacy of love behind him. Rest easy Phil. Until we meet again.

Sincere Condolences to Phil's entire family....he was such a nice man and will be missed by all....he always had a smile on his face and was so kind to everyone....he would bring my mom flowers at Christmas ever since my dad died 12 plus years ago....Rest in Peace.

I had the honor of knowing Phil since the 1st grade.Whenever he was involved with something it was a lot of fun.Phil was a great team mate and friend.I think that we will all miss his contagious laugh and personality.Can`t replace a MAN like Phil Stanley.

Phil was fun the cousin that always made people feel at home no matter who was there. His boisterous laugh was contagious. Myself and three brothers and sister Ray, Patty, Steve, Mark would enjoy a holidays and summer vacations. The day would be filled with sports, Laughs and food and stories and do not forget the 8 mm movies prepared by uncle George. We all moved away in all directions but Phil's family and house was always open and so was ours. Phils sense of humor and love for all sports made it a memorable experience of growing up and those experiences that will be cherished. One memory that jumped into my head was on a Christmas night when many of our friends would gather at my house, in came Phil with a door wreath around his neck singing caroles. Goof Ball

To the Stanley family, I'm sorry to hear about Phil's passing, i worked with him for many years at central ny electric. I had a nick name for him since the day I met him " the mayor of saratoga" any where we went he would introduce himself as " hello I'm Phillip J. Stanley, how are you" (I was always embarrassed). I sat with him many times at the race course, he always had his tables and always made the news as one of the lunatics running in as the gates opened! He will be missed by many! Rest in peace phil!

We were a tight neighborhood group of 2nd Avenue kids growing up with Phil, including Jeff, Scott, Michael, Ronnie, Bob and myself, enjoying many hours playing outside over the years and parties when we got a bit older. I am sorry to hear of Phil's passing and hearing about Rosemary's as well. Rest in peace as you meet your parents and sister again. God Bless, Mark

I will miss your stopping to say hello Everytime I was out front in the yard and saw your white coming down . You always would stop to say hello and ask how I was doing and always offered his help if I needed anything .
I will miss your stops to say “Hi Neighbor, how are things ? And have a great Day”.

Phil will be sorely missed. So many fond memories. I could go years without seeing him then it was like we saw each other last week. You always knew when Phil was in the room. Everyone was smiling and laughing. He was a great teammate and a better friend and man.
He will be sorely missed. Till we meet again. RIP

I met Phil years ago through mutual friends from Hawthorne, and i know how loved he was. My condolences to Jolene and their children. May he rest easy.

Phil was a great friend in high school. I always fremember him smiling and joking around with everyone. He will remain in my heart with all the beautiful memories he gave us through the years, God, rest your soul.

So sad to hear this news, We had a lot of fun together coaching , and watching the Girls hoops and some great parties around it all! No doubt Phil was a throw back to the generation we grew up in where people said what they meant and did not feel a need to be apologetic about it! Which was what made him more real than many to me. Sometimes they raised their voices which was a sign of emphasis not a lack of love if anything, the opposite! He commanded respect from and returned it to those that understood that! His kids got that, which is why they loved him so much and I am sure Jolene probably had to explain it more than once , to others. He was great to coach with very supportive through good and bad decisions! He was the type of friend and coach who told you what you needed to hear not what you wanted to hear! I always enjoyed his sense of humor and whitty sarcasm! He most of all strongly encouraged and tried to teach the girls to fight as hard as they could within the game and care as much as he did. I think in his last fight he lived what he preached as long as he possibly could! Unfortunately, for us he finally succumbed to a much higher power!
All my sympathies and prayers are with Jolene and Madison, Margret and Kate.
