Philip Warren Stout, formerly of Wellsville, NY, went to be with his Lord on January 5, 2020. He was born in Wellsville, NY on February 24, 1959 to Allen Stout & Hilda Church Stout. He grew up on a dairy farm that also produced maple syrup, and participated in 4-H, and Junior Grange. He was a liturgist and active in youth group at the Christian Temple in Wellsville during high school.
Philip graduated from Wellsville High School in 1977 and from Alfred University with a BS in Ceramic Science in 1982. Throughout high school Philip participated and found great joy in musical productions and chorus activities. His musical interests continued in college through plays, Alfred University Chorale, and barbershop. He continued to be involved in choral music in the churches he attended.
At First United Methodist Church Foxhill, Philip was a choir member, church council chairman, lay leader, and a member of the Emmaus group both the Peninsula Rainbow and Tidewater groups.
Philip worked many years for Maida Corporation, Hampton, VA. He has always cultivated a vegetable garden and had a green thumb with all plants. He enjoyed camping and canoeing with his older siblings in the Adirondacks.
Philip Stout is survived by his son, Keith Joseph (Davida) Stout and grandson, Dustin Stout from Virginia; and siblings David (Janet) Stout, Sharon Stout and Shirley (Thomas) Kowalik from western New York, and 7 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. Philip’s ex-wife Anita, sister-in-law, Joann (Bob) Barnard of Hampton, and father-in-law Eugene Chenoweth of Hampton also survive. His mother- in- law predeceased him.
Donations in his honor may be made to First United Methodist Church Foxhill or a charity of choice.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18 2020 at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill at 11AM.

Phil was not just a friend to us - - he was more like an "adopted son."
There are no words to fill the emptiness caused by losing someone
so special. His involvement in the church (First UMC Foxhill) and
in the Emmaus community is surely an example of true Christianity.
The heavenly choir has gained a beautiful tenor voice, but losing Phil
has opened holes here needing to be filled. Phil has blessed us with
Joey and Davida; and we pray for them and the rest of the family especially during this time of sorrow. With our prayers we offer our sympathy
and our love as we thank God for the life of Phil Stout.

We are saddened by the loss of our friend Phil. Phil was vital part of our church family, and was instrumental in our faith journey. His knowledge of Bibical history was amazing, and his tenor voice in our choir can never be duplicated. Phil was a multi-talented man of great faith and Heaven has gained a dedicated disciple.
Joey, Davida, and all of your family remain in our prayers. DeCOLORES Phil Stout!

Joey there are not enough words to express my sympathy to you and your family on the passing of your Dad. I have fond memories of him when I visited my late sister Lillian in Virginia as well as when he and your Mom visited Uncle Michael and I here in Massachusetts. I remember Phil as a very quiet kind man who always was kind and respectful. Your dad will always be with you in heart, May he Rest In Peace as he joins the Angels in Heaven. R.I.P. Phil.

I attended church at 1st Fox Hill and participated on many Emmaus walks with Peninsula Rainbow Emmaus with Phil. I will always remember Phil for his sense of humor, his generosity, his faith in God and his beautiful voice. You will be missed my friend.
