It has been a while since I've visited this page. The last time I left a comment was 6 days after Phil passed. Today, I was moved to just say something.
I've never imagined the loss of a presence as great as that of my fathers. Everywhere I go, something feels incomplete because of how impactful the legacy he left behind is. He was humble and hardworking, wise beyond measure, but most importantly, my dad had the ability to love in the most powerful way possible. Almost 4 years out, I still remember the privilege of having him in my life.
Dad, I have grown so so much, almost too much, since we lost you. You wouldn't believe half the things I've experienced without you, but I am confident that one day we will be able to sit down, wherever you are now, and have a humorous chat about the lessons I've learned. I just completed my first year at your high school alma mater. Anything and everything I'll be able to accomplish in my life, I dedicate to you. I love you with every part of my soul, Dad.

Today, my iPhone blinked a "reminder" of Phil's interment - I know that happened a while back, but when I set up the "appointment," it was set with a yearly reminder. I am glad to have had the brief pause in my day so I could stop and remember him and the time we studied together.
I have never known a kinder, more caring soul than Phil - and I still remember his amazing sense of humor and wit from our days together at Deerfield Academy so many years ago. I'd like to think he smiled when I stopped and thought of him and your family - he (and you) are in my prayers.
Requiescat In Pace, my Friend.

The best way to describe Phil is an angel on earth. There are very few people you meet in this world that I can say that about. From the very first time I met Phil, he always was determined to put his best foot forward both as a professional and as a person.
In the world of finance, many people saw success only through the lense of what they could accomplish. Winning, sometimes at any cost, was the goal. Phil's approach was very different. Winning was important, but winning as a team was more important. Treating people with kindness and good humor was important. Being a good person and understanding people's strengths and weaknesses was important. Being a good person, a good father, and a good husband was just as important as his career. The world has lost a truly special person. I hope Phil's family can find some comfort in knowing just how special he was to all of us at Varagon.

Phil and I were friends from TI, brought together by a shared love of Sinatra. He was just wonderful. Learning of his passing was truly heartbreaking. Although we hadn't kept in touch, it so clear that he loved you all deeply and was deeply loved. Sending you all love and strength.

Phil and I were friends and fellow Econ majors at Princeton. We sought each other out to form study groups whenever we were in the same class. I think my GPA went up a full point after we began studying together and I know I laughed much more often. Many other students would come to Phil for help during those years and he never turned anyone away. When we graduated, in 1994, the job market was challenging and Phil was responsible for me getting my first job. Thank you Phil Warren.

Brooke, Reagan and Charlotte:
I am deeply sorry for your loss. i spent three wonderful years working alongside Phil. The camaraderie we shared in our bullpen was what got me through those many long days, nights and weekends. To this day, I have yet to meet a kinder, gentler and more intelligent soul than Phil. My sincere condolences.

Growing up, I envied Phil and Sarah's close relationship, as well as their many inside jokes. Phil was bright and hilarious and I am sad that he was taken so early. My sincere condolences to the entire Warren family.

PDiddy!
Goodness you have left such a void in our hearts and lives. However, you gave so much to this world in your lifetime. You lead you life by example and your generosity for others and sacrifice was so touching.
I will miss your wit and our family will always have an empty chair at the table knowing that our angel is watching over us.
Please help carry your girls hearts through this time - they love and miss you so much and they always will.
