"In loving memory of Philippa Ruth Georgie, beloved wife of the late Donald Georgie, mother of Esther and Ruth, grandma and great-grandma, who passed away peacefully in her home
on April 6th 2023, aged 91 years. Philippa (née Barnes) was born in Holmer Green, Buckinghamshire. She was one of the foremost concert pianists of her generation, giving many live recitals for BBC Radio 3, and playing as soloist with top British orchestras and conductors. She inspired younger generations of pianists and was especially renowned for her playing of Chopin and French repertoire. It was through music that she met Donald, then in the U.S. Air Force, and also a musician. Their passion for each other and for music endured to the end." Funeral service at Brandon Methodist Church on Thursday 4th May 2023 at 10.30 am followed by burial at Christ Church, Holmer Green, Buckinghamshire at 3.00 pm. Donations if desired to
