Amy and Family
I am sending you my deepest heart felt pain in losing a brother of Kappa Alpha. Phil and I lived together at the KA House for a year then graduation for me, but those times were filled with laughter and fond memories. He'll be missed but not forgotten. Especially, by those of us who served our country and served in Vietnam as well, we were brothers in more than one way. God Bless and may His Love be a covering over you and your family.

Amy, I am so sorry about Phil. The times I was around him, he was such a neat guy. I know he brought you so much happiness and you to him as well. Hang on to those memories and you will always have him close to heart and know that he loved you with more than he could ever show or tell you. My prayers are with you. Love You!

Amy: Words are so empty at times like this. I am so truly sorry for the heartache that you are feeling. I am just so very sorry that your time with Phil was so short but may the memories fill your heart each and every day. I hope you continue to hear his laugh in your heart.

I have known Phil my entire life as he and my father were childhood friends. Phil was kind and funny and just a joy to be around. He was always concerned more about the welfare of his friends and family than of himself. I will miss him greatly.

When I worked at Flashback Cafe in Nacogdoches Phil would come up to visit and no matter what time of night he would always go to Sonic and get us Lemon-Berry Fresh Fruit Slushes. If it was early and Smoothie King was still open he would get us smoothies...and sometimes he would stop at both places.
He was a kind man with a HUGE heart...always good company.

I knew Phil almost from the day he pledged KA at SFA. Having survived Vietnam, he was full of life and wanted to enjoy it to the fullest. He was never boring or sedentary. I am saddened at his passing and will miss him.

Amy, I have not seen or talked to Phil since 1974 in Nacogdoches. It is a shame that close friends can drift a part so quickly. As we get older friends become even more dear. I was in Houston two weeks ago with other KA Brothers that I had not seen in 30+ years. We talked about Phil and remembered him fondly. Tomorrow, November 10, the Marine Corps birthday, I will raise a glass to my little brother and fellow Marine. God bless you and your family. Jim Thompson, Melbourne, Florida.

Amy and Sarah, I am so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories of our life with Phil. Tho we didn't see him for many years after high school, I wouldn't take any thing for the times that we had with him in the past 4 or 5 yrs. It means so much to our family the interest that he showed in Daddy during the latter days of Daddy's life. We appreciate so much during the time that Daddy was sick that Phil brought Aunt Pauline and Shirley to see Daddy. It was such a pleasure to have Phil, Amy, Shirley and Aunt Pauline at Daddy's last birthday party, just 2 weeks before Daddy died.
Amy, even tho we didn't get to spend much time together, I count it a pleasure to know you. If I can be any help to you or Sarah, if you just need to talk please call me any time day or night, I'm just a phone call away.
Love, Glenda
