Reverend Dr. Phillip A. Duckett, Sr. Reverend Dr. Phillip A. Duckett, Sr., of Danville, Virginia passed away on December 16, 2012 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Dr. Duckett was born July 18, 1929 in Union, South Carolina. He served as a minister in South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. He was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church in Danville. He is survived by his wife Jeannette Holsonback Duckett, daughter Patricia Martin, son-in-law Charles Martin, son Phillip A. Duckett, Jr. and daughter Penny Stultz, son-in-law Ralph Stultz, five grand- children and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 19, at Townes Memorial Chapel in Danville. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm prior to the service on Wednesday, December 19. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to God's Storehouse, PO Box 2600, Danville, VA 24543 or to House of Hope Homeless Shelter, PO Box 1197, Danville, VA 24543.
