Phillip Miguel GODWIN

GODWIN - Phillip Miguel Passed away suddenly on July 11, 2011 at the age of 26 in Newport Beach, CA. Former resident of Wheatfield, NY, he attended Errick Road Elementary and Edward Town Middle Schools. Phil loved playing with his childhood friends, building snow forts and sledding, chasing fireflies, going to Darien Lakes, Dee Dee's Dairy, Reid's Hotdogs and Becker Farms. In Western New York, Phil is survived by his step-sister Jenna Tabor-Godwin and step-mother Lana Godwin (Cowan); and was preceded in death by his good friend Spc. Alan Dikcis (U.S. Army, Afghanistan 2010) and step-grandmother, Blanche Cowan; also survived by: in California, his fiancée Denise Agustin, their infant daughter Scarlett Rose Godwin and a baby girl expected to arrive this November; mother Debra Faris, brother Daniel Godwin; sister Gina Godwin and her son August; in Massachusetts by his father, Glenn and wife Susan Godwin; and baby sister Alexis Godwin; in New Mexico by his grandparents, Glenn and Theresa Godwin; from California, Arizona and Georgia, five aunts and uncles, and ten first cousins. Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lumberton, NM, followed by interment in the family cemetery in Dulce, NM on July 18, 2011. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to benefit Scarlett's 529 college trust account.
