Beth, Phil Jr., Chad, Chris, and Brett,
I am so sorry about the loss of your husband and dad. Phil was a great inspiration to me and my life. I remember the many times he put his arms over my shoulders and gave me much needed advice. The last time I saw him we laughed and cried together. I am blessed to have had him as a friend in my life. He influenced my life more than he ever knew. His love for God was awesome! We wish we could have made it back to Ohio for the funeral - please accept our deepest sympathies from our family. Our prayers are with each of you. May you find comfort as the days pass by. - Brad, Terra, Jessica, Emmet, and Haley

Beth, Phil Jr., Chad, Chris and Brett,
From the day we first met the McKnight family....you quickly became part of ours. The connection with our families was a God connection and that connection is not easily broken. To Phil his family was everything and that showed by the love you could see on his face at the mention of you and the boys. Phil was an example of the love of Christ. The word of God tells us that we shall be known by our fruits. Phils fruits were overflowing. Phil fulfilled a ministry of encouragement and helps. There was never a time that we saw him that he was not upbeat and encouraging. Phil had a way of making you smile in the worst of situations. He was AMAZING with children as a mentor and a coach. Phil will be missed greatly. To our family he was brother and friend, to my children he was Uncle Phil. We love your family very much and will look forward to the day when we all see Phil again in Heaven. Our prayers are with you daily.

Dear Beth & guys,
We were so saddened to hear of Phil's death. You have been in our prayers in the last couple weeks. We remember fondly Phil as Charity's 1st basketball coach in biddy basketball here in Lancaster. He gave her the love of the game that she had, and was always so kind & thoughtful even 10-15 years later whenever we'd run into you and he'd ask about Charity.
May all your wonderful memories help to comfort you at this time & remember that He is now with the Lamb.
No more pain, no more tears, for the old has passed away; behold, He makes all things new.
Sincerely,
Don, Sharon, Charity Jacobs & her son, Alexander, Lancaster

Mama Beth and the boys I am so sorry for your loss. I remember all the stories mama Beth would tell us in class and during our breaks, as she told each event I could see the love and bond that they both had. Seeing the family on our graduation day and then finding out that my inlaws ("Suny" Luther Freeman and Charlotte Roush)knew the family made it even more special. I believe that he is looking down on the family along with my mother in law Charlotte who passed 11 months ago. If you need anything please let me know. I ove you mama Beth,Chad, Chris, and Phil.

The first time I met Phil I knew he was the Real Deal.
I only saw him four more times and he instilled a goodness for my soul every time I was in his presence.
He told me that I should write a book, and if I ever do he'll be in a few chapters.
My condolences to family and friends, truly a man you only meet once in a lifetime.

Beth, Boys and family, Phil was one of the most awesome men I have ever known. He was always so welcoming to everyone with a hug and asking how have you been, is everything ok? He was a man that not only taught football and basketball to the kids but taught them about morals, the golden rules and love of their country and God. Wow what a GREAT COMMUNITY LEADER! Not enough words can be said about this wonderful angel that is so sadly missed on earth, and now heaven has gained an angel. I keep wanting to say it is not fair, but it would not be fair for you to live in pain. I know God welcomed you with open arms there is absolutely no doubt in my mind. Our family has loved all of you as our families for many years have cheered on Gales Basketball and Razorbacks football together. I can still hear you say, "GALES IN THE HOUSE", Who? Who?, "Come on Boys work it like a sewing machine." Always supporting the young kids in such positive ways. Phil, you and Beth constantly volunteered your time for all the youth of Lancaster and Lancaster should be so grateful. Phil we all miss you, but I know you are resting in paradise. Our Love and Prayers to Beth, Boys and family
