Phillip Randel McKnight

Phillip passed away at his home in Wells, Texas after he went into heart failure and could not be revived. He had been diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in 2002 and given a five year life expectancy at the time. He sought the very best possible cardiac treatment consistently from 2002-2025, changed his lifestyle and lost 200 pounds, and pursued everyday of his remaining twenty three years making the very best of his life, while struggling with a serious health issue.

Phillip was a graduate of Wells High School, Angelina College, and SFASU. He had previously been employed at the Wells Nursing Home, Lufkin State School, Lufkin Industries, and TDC Diboll.

He pursued his wide range of hobbies and activities all of which he mastered: grilling, creative writing, photography, gardening, martial arts, music, the art and intellect to debate and discuss any topic, and many other accomplishments.

Phillip is survived by his wife LaVonuna, daughter Lilly, step daughter Allae, parents Perry and Jean, sisters and brothers-in-law Donna and Bart and Julie and Paul, brother and sister-in-law Lee and Tina, nephews Kevin, Daniel, and Cody, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, friends, classmates, former co-workers, daily life acquaintances all whom adored him and all of whom he adored.

Phillip was buried at Simpson Cemetery near his grandparents at a private family service. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Noah and Lillian Quine and Ramsey and Gladys McKnight, aunt Lisa Quine Jackson, and father in law Paul Payne.
