I met Phillip standing in line waiting to vote 2 years ago, and I was so fortunate to have a conversation with him. He told me about all the crazy things that happened in his life, and how much he loved his family. He talked very proudly of his children and grandchildren. After our conversation, he gave me his card and told me any time I needed a lawyer, he´d love to help me out. He kept that promise up until his retirement. He was such a hard worker and never seemed to take a break. He never even mentioned having cancer to me until a couple months before he passed. I wish I would´ve got to have 1 more conversation with him before his passing, but it only makes me appreciate the conversations we had in the past that much more. I will keep the whole family in my prayers.

Phil and I had the opportunity to work on a number of difficult cases together while he was in private practice here in St. Louis. He was one of the very few attorneys in St. Louis who had not only the skill to successfully handle difficult matters but could so while retaining his sense of humor. He enjoyed the company of others in all types of settings including over a stiff one but I never saw him have too much in the company of others. I have been wondering why I haven't seen him lately. No I know. I will miss him greatly.
