Still will remember Phil at our family birthday partys at Happy Joes Pizza. Him and I would set around and talk about tractors we both had the same brand that we loved and cherished. The love for the Massey Harris and Massey Ferguson line of farm equipment. He got me interested in joining the Iowa Massey Harris Collectors Group and went to a few shows with him. He also had one of greatest collection of farm toys in his house basement. He always called it I believe Phils Farm Toy Museum. He always had a place in my heart and will always be missed by me.

Phil was a great person. I first met Phil when he stopped by my house in Lentner Mo. as I had my tractor collection setting in my yard. He stopped to talk tractors and see if I would be interested in selling any. I had lost track of him until years later when I moved up to Cedar Rapids Iowa and few years later dated Teresa Allie. At the wedding she introduced me to her aunt and uncle. And he started talking to my dad at the wedding reception as my dad was a Massey mechanic for 30 + years. He remembered stopping by a guys house years ago in Missouri to see if they would be interested in selling some Massey tractors. Well low and behold the last name ran a bell and we were now related by marriage. Funny how the love of tractors could make a complete circle years later. I also went to shows with Phil and I collect farm and vehicle toys as well. He also got me involved with the Iowa Massey Collectors Club. He will be sadly missed by me as friend and a family member.

Phil was one of the brightest faces and happiest people I ever had the pleasure to work with at United Fire. He was always encouraging, and never seemed to know what a bad mood even was! I was sad to see him retire, and can only offer the deepest condolences to his family.

So sorry for the families loss. I worked with Phil at UFG. Jokingly always called him "The Loan Shark" as he handled personal loans for UFG employees. Have not seen Phil for a couple of years, but remember him fondly. RIP
