Phyllis A. Becker, 91, of McPherson, KS, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, at Hospice House, Hutchinson.

 

Phyllis was born on June 28, 1932, in Centralia, KS, the daughter of Gordon and Berniece Aileen (Conley) Shup.  She graduated in 1950 from high school in Russell, KS.  She then attended Fort Hays State University. 

 

In 1951, Phyllis was united in marriage to Robert E. Eichman in Russell, KS.  On November 10, 1972, Phyllis married Marion Ray Becker in McPherson.  They recently celebrated 51 years of marriage. 

 

Phyllis worked as an insurance clerk at Memorial Hospital for 21 years and then was a payroll clerk for The Cedars.

 

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, former President of UMW, and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

 

Survivors include: her loving husband, Marion of the home; children, Monica Koehn (Ernie) of McPherson, KS, Jeff Eichman (Shari) of McPherson, KS, and Vicki Lingafelter (Bryan) of Coweta, OK; siblings, Karan Lunsford of McPherson, KS and Vicki Round (Jerry) of Galva, KS; eight grandchildren, Jon Vance (Gayla), Danica Fitzmorris (Doug), Bobby Vance (Amanda), Aaron Koehn (Amber), Sara Wilson (Jeff), Abby Hagemann (Jared), Bryanna Beavers (John), and Christopher Lingafelter (Natalie); 22 great-grandchildren; and many extended relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maureen Brown.

 

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Stockham Family Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 17, at First United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at McPherson Cemetery.  To view a live stream broadcast of the service, please click on the following link: https://mcphersonfumc.com/worship/
