Jackie passed away peacefully in the Lord, surrounded by her loving daughters, granddaughter and family.
Jackie was born on March 7, 1925 in Elkhart Kansas to the late Wilma and Luther Thomas. She moved to the Antioch area when she was about twenty years old.
She worked for Fiberboard/LP where she met her future husband Pete Carvalho Jackie had many jobs from working for Edwardo's candy factory, A&W Root Beer. She acquired her nurse's aide license and worked at Antioch Convalescent Hospital for several years. She was supervisor at NC agency/Quilt making.
Jackie had many wonderful hobbies and interest, from sewing, camping, water skiing, equestrian. She made beautiful quilts and clothing. She had a love for crocheting and knitting.
Jackie belonged to the California State horseman's association, the Delta horseman's association. The Kansas Morton County historical society, the Antioch Historical Society. Moose Lodge in Martinez. Upon retirement Jackie and Pete traveled to Hawaii, Canada, Oregon, Colorado, Kansas and many other areas of the United States.
Jackie is preceded in death by her loving husband of more than 60 years, Pete Carvalho. She is survived by her loving daughters Sharon Lawson, Cindy Smith, Carlynn Costello and Deborah Henderson. Jackie was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life taking place at Higgins Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held on Tues. Oct 20th from 4 pm until 7 pm. and a funeral service will be held on Wed. Oct 21st, at 11 am Higgins Funeral chapel.
Donations may be made in Jackie's name to St Ignatius Parish of Antioch.
