Phyllis Combs Obituary
Mrs. Combs was born September 14, 1938, in Malle, Kentucky, to the late Seaphas and Virginia May (Stamper) Sutton. Her family moved here in 1947 and she married Carl Combs on July 3, 1959, in South Milford, Indiana. Early in her life, she was employed at G.C. Murphy Dime Store in Kendallville. She also worked at the Rome City Library and Courier in Kendallville. Phyllis was a member of the Community Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Carl Combs of South Milford; a sister, Brenda and Ford Frick of Skinner Lake near Albion; a brother, Cephas and Barb Sutton of Kendallville; a sister-in-law, Joyce Sutton of Little Turkey Lake near Stroh; and nieces and nephews Ford Jr. and Holly Frick of Avilla, Chris Frick of Indianapolis, Angie and Tim Dhillon of Fort Wayne and Jason and Cristy Sutton of Kendallville. Also surviving are many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Victor Sutton, in March of 2017; and a nephew, Wesley Sutton.
Visitation will be held today from 4-8 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Community Baptist Church near South Milford with Pastor Carl Ritchie and Pastor Sam Weimer officiating the service.
Burial will follow in South Milford Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ford Frick Jr., Chris Frick, Tim Dhillon, Jason Sutton, Don Cornett, Bob Lawson, Travis Knox and Chase Sprouse.
Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International or Parkview Noble Hospice.

Prayers for you Carl, Phyllis was a great lady a great friend An very special Sunday school leader when I was younger. Was very fortunate to know her an very appreciative of her friendship An love she showed me all those years. Thank You to you both for all the kindness an great times we had when we came to your home, was always a pleasure to be around you both. You were both like family to me An will never forget that. She will be greatly missed but she is home now where she is free An happy an singing to our Heavenly Father!!!!
