I have so many memories of Phyllis. She was one of the first persons I met when I started at Nationwide, where she was one of the experienced people on our Fire IT team. I got to know her socially where I remember going to her house with bunches of other people to hang out during snowstorms. I also spent many beach vacations with Phyllis at Ocean Isle, with the last few years as roommates. Phyllis was an early riser who loved watching sunrises, I was just the opposite, one of the last people to go to bed each night. So sharing the room was easy since we were on different schedules. As I recall, playing bridge and walking on the beach were some of her favorite activities there. Phyliss was one of the most helpful and caring persons, I've ever me, she would do anything for anybody.

Phyllis lived in the house behind ours for nearly 35 years. She was more like a family member than a neighbor. On weekday mornings she and I would share coffee time and plans for the day. We also shared a garden which was located almost entirely in her backyard. We raised tomatoes, peppers, green beans, and a lot of red raspberries as well as other vegetables. One year she was shocked and appalled to find I had planted brussel sprouts, and made me promise to never plant them again!&

I have so many memories of Phyllis: our early years at Nationwide, many beach trips together, long walks on the beach, and many hands of bridge. What I always thought and admired about her was her selflessness - always wanting to do anything for someone else and putting her own needs/wishes last. She was a kind and caring soul.

Phyllis made THE BEST chocolate chip cookies. My kids, even today, say mine are ok, Phyllis is the best! And I´m ok with that. She was world´s best neighbor and friend.
