Phyllis Jamerson Obituary
Phyllis was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She enjoyed reminiscing about college and the notorious parties she held. Her interests included playing board games with her family and friends, especially Scrabble, watching tv, finding the best local restaurants, taking care of her precious pets, and soaking in the sun.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her father, Phillip Jamerson and brother, Bobbie Jo Miller. She leaves to cherish her memories, her mother, Leanora Miller; sister, Shirley Miller; brother, Don Miller (Michelle); daughters, Garlita Kennedy (Aaron) and Peyton Jamerson (Jarius Jordan), granddaughter Amari Graham; and grandsons, Kahari and Nasir Jordan. Family, friends, and others whose lives Phyllis touched are invited to offer condolences on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 4pm-6pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Denbigh located at 12893 Jefferson Ave, Newport News VA 23608.

To the Jamerson and Miller Family you have our prayers and condolences. I worked with Phyllis at Jamestown Glass House and if those woods in Jamestown could talk. She was in our wedding 33 years ago. I have so many fond memories of Phyllis and I love to hear her laugh. She had a smile of gold. RIP in Phyllis!

To Phyllis family
I was so saddened to hear of the passing of " P". We were VSU friends & hanging buddies. We stayed in touch and remain friends after college. We hadn't talked in a long time but I want the family to know that "P" was a friend that I loved. She was someone special that will never be forgotten. Phyllis, such a sweet and kind soul! We worked at Aafes together and that is where i meet her. They use to get our names mixed up her being Jamerson and me being Jimmerson and i would have to forward alot of her emails to her. That is how we meet. We have hung out together going to the movies and she invited me to her family reunion. I will miss you my friend. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers and asking God to comfort each of you. RIP my friend!

I did not know Phyllis, but know her sweet sister, Shirley. What a lovely person! I can only imagine that Phyllis was the same.

I met Phyllis many years ago at work. I was a new hire, and she was the first person to introduce herself. We hung out a few times outside of work. Phyllis was sweet, kind, and fun to be around. I wish we would have kept in touch throughout the years. Thank you Phyllis for introducing me to pepper jelly, and rum balls. My condolences to Lita, Peyton, and all of her family, and friends. Rest In Peace Phyllis.
