Quirk, Phyllis Ann Carlson 57, of South Haven, died suddenly in International Falls Saturday, June 2, 2007. Phyllis was born October 12, 1949 to John and Genevieve (Dircks) Skalsky in International Falls, Minnesota. She was a graduate of Falls High School 1968. Phyllis met and fell in love with John Quirk in Minneapolis in the summer of 1988 and married in 1993. Phyllis and John belonged to many organizations including Wright County VFW Post 1907 and Lions/ Lionesses. Her first love was her family and the people she waited on at Red's Café which she had been with for over 20 years. She also really enjoyed fishing on Raine Lake which she did on her last day with her loving husband. She also loved her garden, the plants in the house and collecting breakable ‘pretties'. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Colleen; parents, John & Genevieve. Phyllis is survived by her husband, John; daughters, Stephanie (Darin) Stephenson of Montrose and Erin Carlson of Buffalo; grandsons, Gavin and Laine; sister, Marcy (Jim) Isaacson of Farmington; nephew, John (Tricia) Dougherty of Rosemount; nieces, Tracy Sinclair of Apple Valley and Amie (Mark) Pivec of Apple Valley; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Marlene & Quentin ‘Tom' Quirk of Bloomington; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, James (Michelle) Quirk of Woodbury, Daniel (Joe Avila) Quirk of Minneapolis, Stephen (Michelle) Quirk of Lakeville, Ann (Michael Day) Quirk of Colfax, CA, and Theresa (Evan) Tweed of Lakeville; many great nieces and nephews; and many great friends including Jan, Sheila, Karen, Kathy, Diane, Dawn and Debbie. Visitation for Phyllis will be Wednesday, June 6, 2007 from 4 to 8 PM at The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo with an Auxiliary Service at 7 PM. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 11 AM at Celebration Community Church at the Montrose Community Center. Pallbearers are John Dougherty, Keith Duske, James Quirk, James Isaacson, Darin Stephenson & Mike Brossard. Private family interment Friday, June 8, 2007 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
