Phyllis Deborah Thorogood

After a long and courageous 17 year battle with cancer it is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Phyllis at the age of 62. Her journey came to an end on December 23, 2020 and she left us peacefully in the loving arms of her husband Darryl. She is survived by her loving mother Muriel June Belanger (Ashton) and the late Joseph Gilbert Belanger. Cherished mother to Dawn (Clayton) and step-mother to William. She will be dearly missed by her sisters Joanne Wicks, Shirley (Dave) Young, Patricia Cyopick and Georgette Belanger (Kevin Russell). Cherished sister in law to Dave (Kim) Thorogood, Nancy (Greg) Korchynski, Donna Thorogood and the late Dan Thorogood. Loving grandmother to Keirsten, Riley, Devyn and Drayke. She is survived by and will be missed by many nieces and nephews, as well as many close friends. Phyllis will be missed beyond measure by her loving husband of 24 years Darryl. Together they created a lifetime of cherished memories that included fishing, camping and traveling, making each and everyday count. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the nurses and staff at the Juravinski Hospital, especially Dr. Tozer who was with Phyllis every step of this journey. Your care and compassion has been appreciated and has brought great comfort to Phyllis and her family. As per Phyllis' wishes there will be no visitation or service and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre.
