I only met Pierre 5 years ago. We would bring our Junior High basketball teams down from Colebrook, and without fail, Pierre would treat us first-class all the way. The most welcoming host in the North Country, and the essence of small-town neighborly sportsmanship. I am envious of those who had known him for so long.

Mr Lafitte and i went way back to the times where i was little and he and several teachers would be in my living room watching and talking about sports.He knew what made me tick and knew the path i wanted to go in life.The guy gave basically his whole life to helping others like he had helped me and for that i cant thank him enough for that.

Ill never forget you Mr. Lafitte!! You were the best social studies teacher ever!! I remember i was struggling really bad and that i couldn't learn like the others but you found a way for me to learn and to ace your class.. you were the kind of teacher that was not only a teacher but you always made us feel like we were your friend too.. 7th grade was an amazing learning experience!! I feel so honored to have my life shared with "Mr. Lafitte". All 4 years our class, class of 1976 was mentored by him. Even tho miles came between me and my hometown he is truly "1" figure of my youth who helped me feel safe and accepted. So sorry for the loss of a great role model for all. Blessed be.

There were many influences that led me to teaching and Mr. Lafitte was one of them. He was kind and patient in the classroom. His sense if humor and smile made students feel at ease. I still remember to this day "Senegal" to "Dakar". He has touched so many lives his memory will not be forgotten. It is with a sad heart that I send my deepest condolences to Mrs. Lafitte and Danielle, Janine, and Jon.

Pierre was a great role model for me as a teacher: patient, selfless, thoughtful, organized, with a wonderful sense of humor. I have many fond memories of our NELMS conferences. I will always remember his smile and dancing style. My heart goes out to his family and community who adored him.

I first knew Pierre as a fellow softball umpire as well as my assignor. We became good friends fairly quickly. That was Pierre - always making friends with everyone he touched. I will miss him. My condolences to his family. RIP, Pierre.

I was lucky to have been his student and to gave chatted with him a few says before he retired. He made learning fun, and as I think back on my life and career, I realized how much he influenced me. WE were very surprised to learn of Pierre's passing. Pierre and all his family will remain in our prayers. We have fond memories of him and all his family for the many years we lived in Littleton. He was a great colleague and a fantastic umpiring partner. I remember when we took the baseball umpires exam together and all the trips we had together umpiring baseball and softball all over the North Country. He will be missed by many people.

I owe so much of who I am to the Lafitte's. As teacher's Mr. & Mrs. Lafitte expected and brought out the best in me. I never wanted to disappoint them because of how much I respected them for their dedication and understanding of young people. As a coach/mentor, Mr. Lafitte taught us the true meaning of team, sportsmanship, competition, hard work, and fun. Later in life, I battled cancer and ran into the Lafittes' on many occasions at Dartmouth as Nicole was going through treatments. Even though it was such a tough time for them, they always gave me words of encouragement and I just wanted to fight so hard for Nicole. They taught me how to fight. He is not only one of the best men there is, but has instilled that in his family as well. My most sincere love and gratitude goes to all of the Lafitte's. May his life be celebrated for all of the kindness and love he brought to so many. Thank you Mr. Lafitte for all you have done in this short lifetime. Thank you and so much love to you Mrs. Lafitte. You will always be in my heart.

Mr Lafitte was an excellent teacher. He had such a great mix of humor and fun that made learning easy in his class. You could tell he really cared about his students and that made all the difference. o Mr. Lafitte, Mrs. Lafitte, and family. As a devoted Red Sox fan, we had the best head butts in the world when discussing baseball and those dreaded NY Yankees. I was proud to have visited Fenway Park with you and Denise. The best Athletic Director the middle school ever had. Part of my soccer coaching experience is because of you. You always made it fun. As a parent you were one of the best teachers the girls ever had. How do I know? Because they still talk about their teachers who made a difference. Your name leads the list. Working with you in the school system I received firsthand training on not necessarily what to teach, but how to teach, and more importantly, why to teach. I take that knowledge now, applying it to my own classroom and students. As a student myself, some 37 years ago, I recall vividly sitting in your social studies class learning the countries of of the world. I'm a social studies teacher. My students say I'm "cool", and "the best". We are who we are because of the great teachers we had. Thank you. God Bless. To all your family.

My parents, Bernie and Irene always had a tremendous amount of respect for Pierre along with David and I. We loved those vegetables from his garden and enjoyed being neighbors on Bryan Street.
