PIO SAGAPOLUTELE
Pio Sagapolutele died suddenly June 7, 2009 from a brain aneurysm that burst while at home in Chandler, AZ. He is survived by his wife Yvonne and four children Pio Jr., Malia, Sky and Noah, and nine brothers and sisters.
Pio was born in Amer. Samoa on Nov. 28, 1969. He excelled in both basketball and football at Maryknoll High School in Honolulu, HI. He went on to enjoy a long career playing for the NFL as a defensive lineman. He played for the Cleveland Browns, New England Patriots, and New Orleans Saints. His career included starting for the New England Patriots in Superbowl XXXI against the Greenbay Packers.
Services will be on Friday, June 26, 2009. Open viewing (10am-12pm), followed by mass (12pm-1:15pm) will be held at Sacred Hearts Church on Wilder Ave. in Honolulu. Burial (2pm-3pm) is at Hawaiian Memorial Cemetery in Kaneohe.
The Memorial Reception will be held at Central Union Church Hall on Punahou St., starting at 4pm until 6pm.
Pio was an exceptionally loving and caring husband, father and friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed. We love you forever Pio.
