When I was about fourteen years old, Piper came to our home in Santa Monica, CA. She was with Gene Nelson, who's mother was my grandmother's dear friend. I was always the odd-one-out since my sister had black hair and brown eye (the Elizabeth Taylor type). When Piper walked in she came right up to me touching my red hair and looked into my blue eyes saying, "We redheads are the most beautiful in the world." I am now seventy-seven and have never forgotten that moment. She will always be remembered and have a place in my heart.
