Plummer Hodges, Age 86, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away June 6, 2014 to be with his Savior Jesus Christ after a short illness with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. Plummer was born in Cumberland Furnace, Montgomery County, TN, on October 17, 1927, son of the late Plummer Hodges, Sr. and Etha Harper Hodges. He was a member of Mt. He was the founding pastor of Trinity Fellowship, a Bible Teacher in prisons for twenty-seven years, missionary, prayer warrior, and a faithful soul winner. Plummer was a patriot who volunteered at the age of 19 to serve in the U.S. Army Air force as a B-29 remote control gun turret operator. It was in the Army that he was nicknamed "Preacher." He spent forty-two years with his first wife, Lois Bulle, who predeceased him. Thanks to NSW, neighbors, nieces, nephews, Gentiva Hospice, Dr. Robert S. Quinn, M.D., and special friends who prayed and stayed close as he was on this journey to Heaven. Beloved, we will miss you terribly and never forget you. Your wife and family. In 1981, God supernaturally led me to The Lords Chapel on a Tuesday night in Oct.. Plummer was preaching in the absence of Pastor Billy Roy. I gave my life to the Lord that night at the altar call and Plummer became a great influence and teacher in my life. I am always grateful for him and his deep love and faith. I cannot grieve for him because I know where he is and who he is with. I think of him often and each time I thank God for him. He is gloriously transformed and happy! And I am happy for him. To whatever family may read this... I pray for your loss and that you would endeavor to walk in that same deep faith that he had. Blessings of peace and comfort to each of you. Sheri Lynn

In the early years of our marriage Plummer was our pastor, first at the Lord's Chapel and then Trinity Fellowship. We grew to love Plummer and he became at very strong mentor of mine during those years. I learned so many things from Plummer but most importantly was how to study the Bible and that everything in the Old Testament pointed to Jesus. He instilled in me a love for God's Word. Being a farmer myself I loved to work with Plummer in his garden and two years we actually partnered in raising a garden. I loved to see things grow and I remember many times working in the garden with Plummer and him teaching me the whole time how our relationship with Jesus was much like gardening. I have not been around Plummer over the last 20 years or so but his life and teachings has still impacted me everyday. Blessings and prayers to all of the family and we all know that Plummer is dancing around heaven today free of this old worn out body and probably figuring out how to plant something. I am thankful today for his life and how much he impacted my family and I.

Dot and family, our prayers are with you. We appreciate so much Plummer's and Dot's visits to Daddy (James Harris) during his journey to Heaven earlier this year. The time you two came and sang with Dad was a highlight of his time in Hospice, you were a favored cousin of Dad's. May the Lord be close to you during this time and wrap you in His arms.

I am very grateful that Plummer and Dot adopted me into their family. Knowing them profoundly influenced my walk with The Lord. I met them in Russia over 20 years ago. So many great memories: Plummer baptizing new believers (including myself) in cold Russian river in October; their encouragement of my future husband Richard during our long distance romance; Plummer standing in place of my father at my wedding; listening to Plummer's preaching every Friday at CCA prison and singing verses right from the Bible; their faithfulness in prayers and practical support during my father's prolonged fight with cancers and my husband's serious illness. I will also forever cherish memories of many fun and joyful times together: gardening, drinking Russian tea, eating breakfast together, Plummer was contagious in singing and dancing just because of the joy of knowing Jesus! My life would never be the same if I didn't meet this couple. I am happy for Plummer to be face to face with his Savior right now, at the same time my heart is heavy and eyes are easily filled with tears at the thought of him not being just a phone call away. But just as I am about to get sad, here comes on one of the scripture songs we used to sing together "Make a joyful noise unto The Lord all you lands, serve The Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing......"
