Please accept my heartfelt condolences on Roy's passing. He was a beautiful human. Like my brother, I remember that Roy always took the time to greet us children and speak with us like we mattered when he had business with our dad. Years later, he wrote me a lovely letter of recommendation. I've thought of him fondly over the years as my path wandered far from Nevada. He will be missed.

I remember Roy from when I was a child and he would be having a meeting with my dad. Always had a smile for me and took the time to speak with me for a few minutes, always treating me just like an adult. Later on I helped fold and seal up thousands of envelopes and fliers for one of his re-election campaigns and got to visit with him on one of his claims up in the mountains. Unfortunately as I grew up I moved away and lost track of him as so often happens in life. I will miss him though and give my sincerest condolences to his family.

Roy was a tremendous help to me in my first days as a newly-elected county commissioner and continued to stay in touch with me throughout my tenure. He was an outstanding individual-- they just don't make many like him any more. Sincere condolences to Mick, Miles and the rest of his family.
