Preston L. Brown a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away at his home on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the age of 66 years 11 months and 7 days. He was born in Durant, Oklahoma to Ernest W. and Myrtle (Matlock) Brown on Friday November 28, 1947.
Preston earned his Master Degree in Education. He was a school Superintendent for many years. Preston enjoyed music, weight lifting and hunting.
Mr. Brown is survived by his son, Michael Brown and wife Cortney of Granbury, Texas; daughters, Amber Jones and husband Ryan of Granbury, Texas, Michelle Brown of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Erin Larson of Midland, Texas and Candy Williams and husband Kalem of Durant, Oklahoma; sister, Lillie Jackson of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers, Roger Brown and wife Glenda of Milburn, Oklahoma and Joe Brown of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Preston Luke Brown of Granbury, Texas, Michael Lane Brown of Granbury, Texas, McKala Williams of Durant, Oklahoma, Felicity Hokett of Durant, Oklahoma, DeCota Hoskinson of Maud, Oklahoma, Bryce Davenport of Granbury, Texas, Calib Jones of Granbury, Texas, Brayden Jones of Granbury, Texas, Ethan Jones of Granbury, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Myrtle Brown; brothers, Abe, Willie Dale and Paul Ernest Brown; sister, Velma Parsons; nephew, Randy Jackson; daughter, Lisa.
Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 PM Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A service in his honor will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Michael Brown, Rayn Jones, Kalem Hokett, Bill Proctor, Brandon Creaseman, Ernie Brown, Joe Brown and Roger Brown.
