Our parents go way back and the adventures they had together was always fun from Reno NV to gamble or Westport WA to Salmon fish. I was under the age of 11 and had never flown before. I was very excited as I got to fly home from Westport WA (which in those days was a 6 + hour drive) with Bill and Lee VanCleave(my Dad) and unsure who else was in the plane with us. lol . Wow that was the best trip ever. I beleive we went to the Harris House and waited for the Moms to get home. lol Ruth and Mom(MaryLouVanCleave) and unsure who else was with them drove the camper home. lol

My father, Bill Hunter, was an old friend of your parents. He loved softball and played the game until he was over 65 years old. I sat next to both your parents every week in the bleachers at Larson Park for years as we watched softball games together. We had many delightful conversions in the 105 degree heat. They were both always kind and interested in the lives of everyone around them. When they arrived for the game, they were greeted with love, by every person seated in the stands. People would move to allow them to sit in their own "special spot" to view the game.

After a year of several surgeries, being unable to work and having to learn to walk again, they sold me a car. I had thousands of dollars of medical expenses. No other business would have risked giving me a loan. (I regained my health, continued to teach and paid off the car loan early.)

They were both a blessing to their friends and their community.

I am sorry for your loss. Your family is in my prayers.
