Dr. Barnes was a colleague of my father Dr. Edwin Smith in the early years of the Calgary cancer clinic. She was a frequent visitor to our home and a tremendous support to our family. She was so full of compassion and love for us and shared our trials and tribulations. I loved going to visit her at her own home where she always made me feel welcome and important even as a child. I believe I have some photos which her family may want to see. I will leave my details.

I worked with Dr. Barnes for all her years at WCB. She was kind, caring and compassionate. She was always willing to help any of us with serious medical issues. She had a marvellous sense of humor and I still laugh at some of the stories she told or funny phrases she had. her British ways. I know you will miss her dearly. My condolences to you all.
