Priscilla Chaney-Mask Obituary

Mrs. Mask was born the daughter of Pascal L. and Erma Ella Duty Chaney, on June 24, 1943 in Sherman,  Texas.  She married CH Taylor and  from this union four children were born. She later married Arthur Ray Mask and four children were born from this union as well. At an early age she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and served him as a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church (PMBC). In order to help support her family, she worked many years as a Home Health Care Aid throughout Grayson County.  Priscilla had a passion for church, and for the past 24 years, she served as the president of the Federated Choir of Sherman. She was a 17 year past president of the PMBC Choir, Mission III president and in 1998 was Progressive’s Women of the Year. She also served as past president of Church Women United of Grayson County, past director for Great Days of Service Sherman area,  and past resource officer of the Sherman NAACP where she received a Community Service Award. She loved spending time with her family and friends and playing cards and Dominos.
 
 
 
On Thursday morning, November 13, 2014, Priscilla slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents; son Sterling Ray Taylor and granddaughter RaKira Mask, and brother Edmond Chaney. Left with precious memories are:  her husband, Arthur Ray Mask of Sherman; sons, Gary (Cassandra) Pleasant of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bobby Chaney, Steven (Sherlan) Taylor and Sidney Taylor, all of Sherman and Ernest (Marilyn) Chaney of Denison; daughters, Ella Latonia Childs of Sherman and Audrei (Percy) Steward of Red Hill,Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Gary Pleasant, Jr., Marquita Davis, Travis Chaney, Pamela Smith, Patrick Edmonson, Matthew Thomas, Lisa Killion, Shawn Edmonson, Kerry Edmonson, Steven Taylor,Jr., Maria Edmonson, Kenny Taylor, Kassie Edmonson, Natasha Edmonson, Tasha Bradley, Tia Curry, Corey Chaney, Jason Hughes, Preston Walker, Ziah Taylor, Breiona Taylor, Brennan Taylor, Brenna Taylor, Michelle Newton, Cassandra Newton, Kyra Steward, Kaylon Steward and Ryia Steward; 37 great grandchildren; brothers: Levi Chaney, Raymond Cunningham (Anita), Jerry Duty, James Cravens (Joyce), sister; Judy Hughes,              step-mother, Nora Chaney; aunt, Barbara Ann Chaney Reed;  sister-in-law, Linda Mask Nickerson, and many other relatives and friends.
