The third of seven children, Pui-King's family moved to Hong Kong in 1949, where the girls studied at Pooi To Middle School. Pui-King graduated in 1954, then moved to Taipei and graduated from National Taiwan Normal University in 1958. She taught mathematics at Pui Ching Middle School from 1958 to 1959. Later, she moved to America for post- graduate studies, then to Canada in 1961 to be with her college boyfriend Chung Ngar Wong (1933-2015). They married in 1963, and moved to Haney (later Maple Ridge), BC, in 1966. While Pui-King was mainly a homemaker raising two children, she was also active as a lay member of the Vancouver and later Coquitlam Chinese Baptist Churches. When Chung retired in 2000, he and Pui-King moved to Port Coquitlam, where they stayed active as lay councillors. Pui-King died peacefully at the Madison Care Centre in Coquitlam, aged 82. She is survived by her brothers Man-Wai and Man-Tuen, and her sisters Pui-Chu and Dorothy, and their families; her daughter Nancy (m. 1992 Andrew Ranger), grandchildren Heather, Geoffrey and Paul, and son Victor.
