I certainly can't top the expressions of love and respect expressed by others in this Guest Book - but I join all in my admiration of this true gentleman. He achieved what most all educators strive for...to leave a positive influence on the lives of their students. He sure did and I am proud to have known him. My prayers and condolences to Pat and family and to the commnity of Dansville.

Dear Pat and family,
My deepest sympathy to you. I have often told friends about my World History teacher. I thought the world of him and had tremendous respect for him. I even passed his class because he was such a great teacher. I flunked American History and passed World. How about that? He will be missed by all. May God bless you and ease your pain.

Mr. Masolotte was 1 of my favorite teachers out of all my high school years. He was an awesome teacher and friend. He always treated each of his students fairly and he had a great sense of humor. I had him in my jr. year for history and homeroom and I enjoyed him so much for a teacher I purposely pick his class for one of my electives when I was in 12th grade just so I could be in his class again! I spent lots of time after school hanging out in his room just to talk and he always had time for us. And long after i graduated anytime I ran into him in town he always remembered who I was and wanted to know what I was up too! RIP Mr. Masolotte! You will be missed greatly! class of 1976

I am very sad to hear about the passing of such a great man. He always found time to come to my office to say hello, when he was visiting Joe. If he had to be at a meeting, other than in Geneseo, he would come up to ask me directions and tell me how much he disliked driving there. I would always joke with him and say " oh boy, please don't get lost and if you do turn around and go home" and we would laugh. I guess the good Lord has shown him the right directions to home. May you rest in peace, Quentin and always have a special place in many hearts.

Mr Masolotte was a wonderful asset to the education system and the community as a whole. He was a good friend to the parents and a excellent teacher and mentor to our children. The students came away from his class with nothing but respect for him. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pat and the family at this time. we are so very sorry for your loss.

I had the opportunity to have Mr. Masolotte as a teacher and Quent as a friend. We had many happy times. One of the last times I saw him he told me "you know Peg, many of my students that I sent to detention I socialize with now". We had a good laugh at that because I was one of those students! A good man, a good teacher. I will miss him. Prayers to Pat and family.

Mr. Masolotte meant so much to so many. He helped shape lives, as they were his students. As we all grew and many went away, we never forgot, not only what he taught us, but the man that he was. To see him walking with his cigar on Main Street, always brought a smile. He will NOT be forgotten but will be MISSED by ALL!!!!

January 16, 2012

Pat, you spent years with one great guy. I am sorry you didn't get more. Quent, my friend, you will be missed by many. I was fortunate to have been part of the faculty at DCS with you. Your humor and "walking" will long be remembered. Your legacy will live on through the students whose lives you have enhanced. Say hello to Ralph for me when you catch up with him in heaven. The "old farts" lunches won't be the same without you.

Ironically, on Thursday of last week I was advised to contact Quentin about a Dansville historical issue. I never got to it before he was gone. I was in his Cit. Ed. class his first year at DCHS. For a time he lived in my uncle's apartment on Clay Street and had the only two-tone brown car in town. One of the browns was the color of his cigars. By all accounts he is an excellent model for what a teacher/citizen should be.

Mr. Mosolotte was beloved & well respected in Dansville. He was one of our favorite teachers. Our 1971 Danua yearbook was dedicated to him. He performed a great service as teacher and local historian. Dansville is a sadder place without him. We will miss him. May he rest in peace. The Masolotte family is in my prayers.

Quint was much more than a friend and acquaintance to us he was family. The Masolotte's were always considered part of our family. He was a constant - never changing. Quint worked as a part time employee in our business for numerous years - always providing a laugh, eager to help and extremely dedicated; but, OH that cigar! He not only taught history; but, he loved history. Quint was one of the best teachers a student could have. We know that he rests in peace with the Lord. He may be gone from his earthly home; but, he will live in our hearts and memories forever.
