I am so very sad to hear of his passing. He interceded on behalf of my Combat disabled son. I will pray the rosary for him. It is the very least I can do. My husband and I have left Arizona. We just found out of his passing. This is a great loss, our profound condolences to his family. He was a good man. A champion of those in need. A life well lived.

There are certain people that can make a strong impression on humanity Raul you are one of those who saw the basic needs of people. I was blessed to have been taught & mentored into the social services for my Barrio & Community. You gave so much so that many could have a better life. Truly a man for the people. Peace

In the mid-2000's, it was my privilege to meet with and join forces with his efforts to advance middle grades education-
an often overlooked but critically important phase of K-12 schooling. Through the years and with his efforts through Success in the Middle, he was a steadfast advocate for young adolescents. His leadership will be deeply missed.

The Tucson Environmental Justice Task Force is filled with deep sorrow for the death of our state Representative, Raul Grijalva. He was a true champion of the environment justice movement. Our prayers are with the family and friends. We also want to share some pictures of memories of our grassroots community efforts with your dad. He will truly be missed by many people.

My deepest sympathies to Raul Grijalva's family, staff, and all his friends and admirers who supported his visions and believed so ardently in his goodwill for all people. In his 22 years at the national level, he brought many remarkable resources to his congressional district without fanfare.
His mentoring of youth and of locally involved workers created a community of caring individuals that is his legacy that will preserve government for the people, by the people. We have been blessed to have such a dedicated public servant working for us.

former Southern Arizona Office Director for Congressman Ed Pastor

My condolences to the family of the great Congressman. My parents voted for him before their passing because of their shared political beliefs. I was an educator for 35 years and I have a lot of respect for people like Raul. May God give you peace in your time of grief.

I had the honor of meeting the late Congressman at the rally to announce the candidacy of Ruben Gallego for Senate. Raul was always a hero of mine; he did so much for the people of Arizona and being from Tucson, he never hid his feelings for his hometown. Raul, May God Bless You and watch over your family at this difficult time. Rest in Peace. You will be greatly missed.

My most sincere condolence to the Grijalva family and to his friends. Raul was my friend from Sunnyside High, where ever I bumped into him, be at a gas station or certain community meeting, he would take a moment to talk with me, after a huge hug, regarding our personal problems, our current family matters and the things he was facing or going to face. A person with a dear heart, considerate and always a true friend. May the LORD hold you in his hands and give your family the strength to continue the best of life without your physical presence. But the way you were here thinking of them, I'm sure you will continue looking after your family. Miss you greatly dear friend.

How you live is more important than how you die. Raúl Grijalva must remain as an inspiration for advocacy of policies that address systemic problems that affect underserved communities. His contributions should be remembered but also carried forward.

My Mom Aida Perez met Raul many years back when he was was the Director of Old Pueblo Neighborhood Center. Our sincerest condolences to the Grijalva family & to his staff. We were deeply saddened to hear of the Honorable Raul Grijalva's passing. He was not only a dedicated & influential leader for the Hispanic community of the greater area of Tucson, but also for the State of Arizona. Although he did not represent our district, I know he represented all of the people, their interests, concerns, desires for our state. He fought for the people. He was unique, experienced & very knowledgeable of how government works. Despite his illness, he still strived to represent the people, their interests to fulfill his responsibilities & duties. He will be missed. He will be remembered as one of the most loyal, charismatic, hardworking Hispanic representatives that served his city, state for decades. Very seldom does someone make an impact on a community, a state such as he did throughout his life. We are grateful for his service. May he rest in peace. Teresita, Gilbert Michael & Judas M. Olmos Hayden, AZ
