Rachel Hansen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 9, 2021.
December 3, 1985 - August 29, 2021
It is with shattered hearts that we announce that on August 29th 2021 our beautiful daughter Rachel Sheila Hansen at 35 yrs. lost her long battle with addiction. Our hearts break for her daughters Kyla and Scarlett and her partner Ben all of whom she loved fiercely.
She was a devoted mother to Kyla and Scarlett, both of whom inherited their mother's intelligence, athleticism, boundless creativity and passion for life.
She fought valiantly through so much adversity, never ever giving up hope of conquering her addiction and becoming a role model for her daughters by devoting the rest of her life to helping women in need. She was a loving, empathetic soul. No matter her own circumstances she would always take the time to listen to and comfort those less fortunate than her.
Highly intelligent with a razor-sharp wit, her love of learning was secondary only to her love of family. She excelled in an academic setting and was deservedly proud of graduating with honors from HS and Sheridan College and maintaining straight A's in advanced courses at Mc Master University.
In her last months she devoted her passion for learning into tirelessly researching and medically advocating for her partner Ben whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her Daughters' Kyla Nicole Henderson, Scarlett Kelly D'Agostino Life Partner Ben D'Agostino, Mother Carol Ann Nasvytis (nee Hansen) and partner Terry Sawford, Father Kazys Michael Nasvytis, Sister Nicole Nasvytis, Nephew Gustav Cliffe and many loving Aunts Uncles and Cousins.
It's been a long, hard journey my Love, may you finally rest in peace.
A celebration of life will be held on September 11th, 1-3 p.m. at the Waterdown Legion, 79 Hamilton St. N. Waterdown ON.
