I just discovered that the beautiful memorials I've seen for Rachel throughout this past year were for YOUR Rachel, and I'm heartbroken for you. I remember meeting her when she was about my daughter Ashleigh's age--she was bouncing all around NWCN and full of pep and smiles, just like her proud Mama. I cannot imagine your grief at losing her. My heart aches for you--I'm so very sorry.

When I think of Rachel the word eternal comes to mind. I can only imagine the amazing accomplishments she would have continued to achieve over the years and the joy and love she would have instilled on those who had the pleasure of meeting her, but even with a shortened life her ripples of kindness on those who knew her will always be eternal. Her joy, laughter, smile, love, and courage will forever be with us in our hearts and memories. I'm so grateful my life was graced by Rachel's presence, and she will always be a part of me. What a beautiful service this afternoon. It was heartwarming to hear all of the wonderful memories of Rachel. I only knew her for a short time while she was in my fieldwork seminar at UW, but she struck me as a compassionate and intelligent individual, themes that I heard multiple times at the memorial. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Rachel was a nanny for our family several summers ago. My girls adored her as did I.
