Rachel Parks Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 17 to May 19, 2023.
Rachel Nicole Parks Vero Beach - Rachel Parks, 28, of Vero Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on May 15, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of bravery, resilience, and an unwavering spirit that will forever inspire everyone who knew her. She had a contagious laugh, a radiant smile, and the ability to brighten any room. She will be remembered as a beautiful individual who touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Rachel taught us the power of kindness and the importance of cherishing each day.

Rachel was a dedicated and hard worker. She spent many years working at the local Publix, starting at a young age and working her way to management, the community was familiar with her vivacious personality and kind heart. Simultaneously, she became a very talented dental assistant at Sundance Family Dentistry where she was a true gift to each patient she interacted with. She also had a passion for plants, spending time with those that she loved, hair, makeup, and cosmetology.

Rachel is survived by her mother, Jeanne Parks, her father Kevin Parks Sr. and her brother, Kevin Parks Jr, as well as, her beloved dog, Lucy. She will be terribly missed by the many people who knew her. May we honor her memory by embracing life with the same outlook, love and compassion that Rachel did.

Hi there, Parks family. I don't know any of you and I was never fortunate enough to meet Rachel, but I saw this plaque walking my dog along the water near Cocoa village. I lost my older sister in February of '23, so I am here with you in the sad, dark pit of grief. It sucks. It's not fair. It feels UNreal. I'm sending over bright, positive vibes. I hope you catch them. As for your daughter/sister/best friend: I'm sad I never her knew her. She seems exceptional.

I just found out today that Rachel has passed. I'm so heartbroken. We went to Cosmetology together. It was a class of 4. When I struggled with something she was always there to help me. I was nervous touching other people's hair and she'd reassure me that it was ok when I practiced on her hair. And that she really didn't care if I messed up on it or not. There's been a few times I've tried to contact her. To see how she was doing. And now I know why I wasn't able to get a hold of you. You were incredibly sweet and funny. I didn't finish Cosmetology. The day I left that class crying you came down with everyone else and talked me through it. You're the one that recommended I'd try cooking. Since I really did enjoy that. And today Rachel, I'm working towards a career in the food industry and I was offered a management position. I really did find my passion in that and you're part of that reason. I really wish I was able to be there to see you before your last days. You were a fighter. After battling cancer the first time you continued on with your dreams. You had so many. You had plans in your life. And it saddens me that you won't be able to. I promise you I'll always remember you.

I went to Viera High School a little with Rachel before transferring and graduating from Rockledge. While Viera wasn't necessarily a worth while experience, one thing I will always remember is Rachel's kindness. She always made it a point to speak to me, try to put a smile on my face, her lunch table along with her friends was ALWAYS open for anyone to sit at, and was one of the few people that I actually felt a sincere sadness when she found out I was going to Rockledge. How kind Rachel was to me, and how kind I saw her be to other people was something I do carry with me till this day, and something I will never forget. My heart, prayers and condolences to the family.

Rachel was my ray of sunshine. She was someone I admired. She was the most strong, confident, beautiful woman I have ever known. Her laugh is pure gold. I love you and you will be in my heart forever.

Even with the Florida sun, my trips back home won´t be as bright without you, Rachel. I am so grateful to have met you back in the 7th grade. That was the start of our friendship, and you being considered a part of my family. You were so beautiful inside and out. Your laughter and smile was contagious and brightened every room you were in. You will be missed by me and all who had the pleasure of knowing you.

I hope you know that you were loved by so many. You deserved so much out of this life.

Rest easy, sweet girl.

Rachel,
You were a bright light at work for my first "real" job at Publix. Thanks for helping me through the transition of high-school and always helping us to find a laugh on a bad day.

You will be so missed and never forgotten. I can see and feel so much love for you from all of the kind posts.

I am keeping Lucy and your family in my prayers after this tremendous loss.

Rest peacefully

I love you Rachel. I´m going to miss our long walks with Teddy & Lucy, our talks by the beach, our laughs and silliness. You became one of my best friends that I could talk to anything about. We talked almost everyday since the day we met. Thank you for listening to me and always being there. You added so much joy to everyone´s lives. Your quick whit, beautiful smile, adorable laugh and your loyalty will live on in my heart forever. Until we meet again
