Rachel Ramirez Maese Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 2, 2025.
With deep love and enduring reverence, we celebrate the life of Rachel Arlene Ramirez Maese, who passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025. Her soul left this earth as gracefully as she lived-with quiet strength, unwavering love, and the deep roots of a life that nourished everyone around her.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Rachel was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, soon-to-be great-great-grandmother, and friend. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Yvonne Escobedo Hanamaikai (1999, Robert), and survived by her children David John Escobedo, Adrienne Arlene Basurto (Robert), and Jon Phillip Escobedo (Ruby); 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Rachel was known for her remarkable ability to revive not only plants but people. Her compassion was matched only by her loyalty, and her presence had the warmth of a home-cooked meal, the strength of a well-rooted tree, and the light of a rising Southern California sun.

Her voice calmed hearts and lifted spirits. She sang not to impress, but to uplift-to wrap her music around the people she loved. Whether it was a hymn, a lullaby, or a simple melody over a phone call, her songs were her way of giving thanks, healing pain, and celebrating life. Her songs brought people together and made the ordinary feel holy and healing.

While she never closed her heart to companionship, she never found her equal in a partner-because her love was too deep, too broad, and too sacred to be measured. She made everyone feel known, welcomed, and loved, always asking after the well-being of your soul, not just your schedule.

Rachel's legacy lives on in her family, her stories, and every bloom that dares to grow in hard ground. She embodied the very essence of life she brought to every plant under her care because she bloomed under every condition of life. Now reunited with her daughter Kathleen, and her mother Manuela, somewhere Over the Heather, beyond this world, there is a happy tune emanating from a garden glowing with light because Rachel Arlene Ramirez Maese has arrived and even Heaven will grow brighter in her care.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:00 AM PDT at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1212 S. 8th St., Alhambra, CA. Remote attendance via Zoom is warmly welcomed. Zoom Link: http://bit.ly/3T2qXnD

Good bye aunt Rachel. You always brightened up my day with your smile and caring words. There are no words to describe the blessing you were in this world.
