Rachel Lee Robinson

My Mother went home to be with the Lord and my Father two weeks ago today. Although I sorely miss her, so much that it hurts, I am happy that she as in heaven with my Dad. She had a kind spirit and was the sweetest lady I've ever known. I always enjoyed her company and the insightful, often humorous conversations that we had. I was amazed at her ability to endure so much pain and suffering without ever saying a negative, complaining word. She truly was filled with the grace and Spirit of God! My Mom was a special, godly lady. I am so proud to have been her son. I will always be guided by the memory of her sweet spirit and her love for God and her family. "...But a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised." And praised my Mother will always be!! I love you Mom, and I will see you again!!

My college roommate died today. We had drifted apart and except for her husband's emails I didn't know how Rachel was doing. Suddenly, in August, Jimmy, her husband passed away, and for many months I wondered why I didn't receive any emails from him, until, finally, I called their home and spoke with his son. Jimmy had passed on in August and Rachel followed him today, only two days after I made the call to her house. Don't forget to keep up with those who mean a lot to you. One day, when you think, "Well, I will call Rachel today," she will not be there. Take the time to let those you care about, especially those in your own family, that you love them and care about them.

Our deepest sympathy for Debbie, Mike and Jeff and Rachel's extended family. Both Jimmy and Rachel were dear friends although we had gone our separate ways in the years since Mercy School of Nursing and the fun we had then and our walks uptown after floor duty, and dancing in the basement. This is a great lesson for everyone. Don't let too much time pass before letting those you love know you care about them and that they are dear to you. May God wrap this family in His comfort and bless them with His grace.

I loved this woman with all my heart. We did not always see eye to eye but she was there for me at every phone call I made. I will treasure these last few months because I got the honor of being with her quit a bit. I will always Love you Mom and will never forget the great Mother you were.
