Rachel (Levesque) St-Onge, age 82, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Highview Nursing Home in Madawaska, after a brief illness. Rachel was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, on June 7, 1934, the daughter of Alfred (Fred) A. and Beatrice (Gabourie) Levesque.

Rachel married the love of her life, Enoil St-Onge, on July 14, 1953, in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage and raised 4 children. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas Aquinas parish in Madawaska. She had a deep love for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rachel was predeceased by her parents; her husband, who passed away on May 21, 2016; three brothers, Bert, Claude and Gerald; and three sisters, Emelie, Aline and Blanche. She is survived by her children: two sons, Gaston and his partner, James Bright, of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and Robert and his wife, Elsie (Lapointe), of Augusta and two daughters, Verna and her husband, Clifton Cyr, of Madawaska and Joan St-Onge of Frenchville; her grandchildren, Jeremy St-Onge and his wife, Kim (Stowers), of Windsor and their children, Ayla and Bryce, Adam St-Onge and his companion, Christina Brochu, of Windsor and their children, Parker, Anderson, Emery St-Onge and Dylan Tudeen, Christine (Cyr) and husband, Matthew Clark, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and their children, Chloe and Marleigh, and Kyle Cyr of Madawaska; stepgrandchildren, Jessica Turcotte and her fiance, Ryan Grimes, of Augusta and their children, Josephine Turcotte and Callum Grimes, and Joshua Turcotte of Augusta; siblings, Dorothy (Levesque) Rossignol, Guy Levesque and his wife, Rachel (Thibodeau); sister-in-law, Jeanette (Desjardins) Levesque, all of Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada; along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you, to all the nurses and doctors at Highview Nursing Home in Madawaska for their wonderful care, kindness and support during her stay there.

Friends and family my visit on Thursday, August 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Lajoie Funeral Home, 114 10th Ave., Madawaska. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, August 5, at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, 337 Saint Thomas St., Madawaska. Burial will follow after at Saint Thomas Cemetery, Main Street, Madawaska. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Saint Thomas Aquinas Parish, 337 St. Thomas St., Madawaska, ME 04756 or Frenchville Historical Society, P.O. Box 184, Frenchville, ME 04745.
