Rahsaan Daniels III Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 27, 2024.
Rahsaan Lonnie Harvey Lee Daniels III, age 42, of Portsmouth, NH, passed away suddenly on February 23, 2024. He was born on July 14, 1981. Rahsaan was raised on Jerome St in West Medford, MA.

Rahsaan was a very quiet and introspective person. He took his time warming up to new people, and then his true personality came out! Rahsaan was smart and quick-witted. He was funny, happy, loving, humble and compassionate. Rahsaan was steadfast in his beliefs and principles. He loved to watch sports, loved a great political debate, and was a huge movie and history buff. He could speak passionately, and often did, on a wide variety of subjects. In a game of trivia, you wanted him on your team!!

He is survived by his wife, Lauren R Daniels; mother, Thomasina S Daniels; father, Lonnie H Daniels; sister, Melinda Daniels; brother, Derrick JT Daniels; nieces, Yessenia and Faith; nephew, Jayden; step-son, Devon Gaudet as well as many beloved family members and friends-who-became-family! Rahsaan was fiercely loyal to his family and friends and they meant the world to him.

Rahsaan attended Minuteman Tech in Lexington, MA where he played football and was on the wrestling team. He went on to study Construction Management at Tuskegee University in Alabama. Rahsaan proudly worked alongside his father at L H Daniels & Associates for 20 years before moving on to be the Estimating Manager at Paul White Company's Newmarket, NH division a few years ago.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Weir Funeral Home (144 Salem Street) in Malden, MA on Saturday, March 9th from 12 noon until 1:30 pm. Immediately following, friends and family are invited to continue to celebrate Rahsaan with a luncheon at Anthony's of Malden (105 Canal Street).

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in his name to either The Till Home in North Billerica where Rahsaan's mother resides (www.tillinc.org) or The West Medford Community Center (www.wmcc.us) where he and his siblings spent a lot of time as children.

The first time I met Rahsaan, he was quiet, shy but very polite. I remember how he looked at Lauren and his face would light up. He loved her so much.
Pictured here we are at Beverly´s summer block party. I was the third wheel but always felt welcome with these two love birds.Rahsaan will be truly missed by everyone.

My deepest condolences to Lauren, Lonnie and the entire Daniels family. May loving memories comfort you at this very difficult time. My fondest memory of Rahsaan was when he and the family came to Baltimore for a visit. I had the pleasure of hanging out with them at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. Rashawn was so kind and considerate and he especially loved the jerk chicken wings at dinner! Rest in peace Rashawn.

I had the honor of officiating Lauren and Rahsaan's wedding. This photo of my Mom with Ryan , Rahsaan and my brother in law David just tickles me because she is so tiny next to them. We had just arrived when this was taken. After a great deal of fun and a short sleep Lauren was going to meet Mom and I for breakfast. She was trying to let Rahsaan sleep as he had really enjoyed his own wedding party but he woke up and Lauren said she was going to meet Auntie Joyce and Linda. Rahsaan didn't skip a beat and in typical fashion responded, "Is Auntie Joyce still dancing?"
Rest in peace Rahsaan. I want to thank you for always having the fact I couldn't pull from my memory banks on a game, or movie, political figure or event; for the quick wit that usual cracked me up when I didn't even think you were paying attention to our conversation; for some truly thought provoking conversations; but mostly importantly, thank you for making Lauren happy and loving her for the truly wonderful and unique woman she is. You will be missed but never forgotten.
