RALPH PERFORMED MY MARRIAGE CEREMONY BACK IN 1978, AND STARTED COMING TO MY LAB SOME YEARS LATER; WHERE I GOT TO KNOW HIM AND MARJORIE BETTER. IN 1992 I THEN DIVORCED AND WHEN I TOLD RALPH, HE SAID THATS OKAY HONEY I'LL DO THE NEXT ONE FOR YOU FREE. HE AND MARJORIE WERE AWLSOME FRIENDS THAT NO ONE COULD EVER FORGET. BOBBIE MORTON

Dear Harr Family,
I would like to express my sympathy on the loss of Mr. Harr. I only talked with him a few times, but he was always very nice to me. I have been your neighbor at the other end of the "woods" my whole life and I am very sad to hear of your loss.

Dear Marjorie, Jackie, Jimmy, Jon, Ramona and precious grandsons Austin and Evan,
Ralph was a lot of fun. We enjoyed running in to you at the
mall and visiting. Marjorie, Ralph wore his love for you on his sleeve and it was easy to tell you were the light of his life. We always
knew by the way your dad spoke about you, Jackie and Jon, that he loved you both so very much and that he was very proud of you two.
Ramona, Ralph was pleased when Jon added you to their family and you know how much he treasured Austin and Evan.
We always knew before we opened the envelope that the Christmas card was from Ralph and Marjorie.
No one else had such beautiful handwriting as Ralph did.
Ralph was a pleasure to be around. He always had a twinkle in his eyes, a big smile on his face and he made time for others. He served his community well and we know he will be greatly missed.
We know you have many wonderful memories of good times with your husband, dad, father-in-law, grandpa and friend and we know he lives on in your hearts.
We will keep you in our prayers and ask God to put His wonderful, comforting arms round you. God bless each one of you.

I want to express my sympathy to each of you during this time of sorrow. You can tell by the signing of this guest book that Mr. Harr was certainly a well thought of person by the friends, neightbors and community and that says a lot for a person. May God give you peace and comfort during this time.

What a fine, fine gentleman!!
I left Bristol in 1981, but I never forgot Ralph. He made an indelible impression upon me and am sure on everyone he met.

Ralph befriended me as a young lawyer when I first moved here with my family in 1985 and knew no one. If I needed a smile or some encouragement, I'd cross the street from my office and go visit Ralph at the Bristol courthouse.

I got to know Ralph Harr over the 15 years I covered Sullivan County government for the Bristol Herald Courier, until late 2004, and continued to interact with him after I began working as a business writer at the Kingsport Times-News, in early 2005. I learned over the years he had many friends across all walks of life and political affiliations, had strong family ties, was a staunch supporter of Sullivan County and its economic development, a businessman who long owned and operated Bristol Auto Auction and a long-time chancery court clerk and master. In interviewing him, he often posed questions back to me. I remember the many times he would help forge concensus on the often divergent and sometimes contentious 24-member County Commission - once the Quarterly County Court - on which he served. I remember his sense of humor and interest not only in his commission district but all of Sullivan County.
