Ralph Alfred Hawthorne BRISTOL, Va. Ralph Alfred Hawthorne, age 87,passed away on Nov. 14, 2009, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born in Abingdon, Va., a son to the late Ernest and Stella Ryan Hawthorne. He had lived in Bristol most of his life and was employed by Monroe Calculating, Litton Industries and retired from Westinghouse. Mr. Hawthorne was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in World War II and was a member of Fellowship Chapel. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lois Countiss, Ernestine Gross, James R. Hawthorne, Harry Hawthorne, and Elbert Preston Hawthorne. Survivors include, wife, Betty Jane "Janie" Hawthorne; daughter, Teresa H. Clark and husband Burt; sons, Ralph A. Hawthorne Jr. and wife Jan and Gary Stephen Hawthorne; sister, Margie Rector; grandchildren Lt. Cmdr. Patrick Clark and wife Leigh, Amy Clark Freeman and husband Jason, Ryan Clark and wife Julie, Jeremy Hawthorne and wife Linda, Seth Hawthorne and wife Margaret, Adrienne Hawthorne, Izabelle Hawthorne; eight great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Scott Price officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Pallbearers include: Larry Bowman, John Galliher, Bill Eads, Bill Robbins, Steve Swiney and John Tuell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bereans Sunday School Class at Fellowship Chaopel. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Weaver Funeral Home. Online condolences may be registered at www.weaverfuneralhome.net Arrangements have been made with Weaver Funeral Home.

Janie,Teresa and Family, Becky and I are so sorry to hear of Ralphs' passing. We loved him very much and will miss him. I know that we will see him again one day in the kingdom of heaven.
