Ralph Kraft Obituary
Ralph Morgan Kraft, Jr., a resident of Discovery Bay, CA (August 28, 1946 - August 8, 2015), passed away early Saturday morning at John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek, after succumbing to complications from lung cancer, with his loving wife, Liz, by his side.
Despite being given a prognosis of very little time to live after his first diagnosis in 2006 at the age of 59, he defied all odds, and went on to live over nine years, enjoying his retirement by traveling the world and visiting his children with his wife.
Ralph was born in Little Falls, NY, graduating from Central High School in Murfreesboro, TN in 1964 and Mississippi State University in 1968, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. He served for four years in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the Signal Corpse. He was stationed in Korea and Germany where he met his wife in 1970. They married July 28, 1973. After leaving the Army, he went on to work for Proctor and Gamble for over 30 years, living in Washington and California.
Ralph is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Liz; loving children, Sarah Dorn (Garrick), Joseph Kraft, and James Kraft, and grandchildren, Paige and Sydney Dorn. He is also survived by his younger brother, William Kraft of Franklin, TN. His generous spirit, and kind and gentle soul will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Private funeral and burial services were held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Oakley and Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch on August 14, 2015.

Dear Liz,
Both Fred and I were very sorry to learn of Ralph's death. I remember one day in 1971 when he was at our quarters after you two had begun dating and he said to me, "You know, Liz is an angel." It's obvious that he never changed his mind about that and that you and he had a wonderful marriage. I would love to hear from you. Julia

I have so many memories of Ralph starting in High School and including "Survival Kits" in College.I remember double dates in the "tortoise" and marathon card games. I have not seen him in probably 30 years but will never forget him.

Ralph was a great friend & big part of lots of fun & funny memories from undergrad days at Mississippi State. A group of us had reconnected with Ralph late last year & Ralph had planned to join our reunion this past January. Sadly we all missed that last chance to share a few old & new memories with our dear friend.
