Mr. Priestman was my OC of Charles Coy in 1 RCR back in 82-83. As a private and many degrees of separation through rank, I do recall him asking me about my family and back ground. This past year he saw me on FB and sent a quick note when he noticed where I was travelling for business.

To the Priestman Family:
I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I had the privilege of meeting and volunteering briefly with Ralph as we began planning to bring some young members of the National Youth Orchestra of Jamaica on a three city Canadian tour. And we often spoke about other issues of mutual interest. Please know that you are all in my thoughts. May members of your family and friends help you through this very difficult time.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Gluckstal

Liz & family,
Miriam & I were very much saddened by the news of Ralph's unexpected passing. He was a great guy: a straight-shooter with a marvelloius sense of humour. We often talk of those wonderful days in Gagetown & Montreal in the 1970s & 1980s, when we "Young Turks" conspired to make our beloved Army a better place.
We know you will miss him terribly.
He's undoubtedly up there now, carrying on the tradition of "never passing a fault."
Our deepest sympathies to all of you.

There are no words to describe just how much just our friendship since the early days in Chilliwak have meant to me. I hope it will give you some solace to know just how important he is to so many. In the tapestry that is life, he is a golden thread.
