Just came across this obituary whilst reminiscing about my days as a pupil at KHS in the early 70s.
Sad to hear of the passing of Mr Quarton. He taught us maths with a passion and had both a sense of humour and an accurate aim with the board rubber if you weren't paying attention :-)

So sad to hear about the passing of a uniquely talented man and teacher. Taught me 1976-79, including the "new" subject of Computer Studies! went back and privileged to work alongside him and get to know the great bloke that he was.
Thanks, Ralph. My condolences to you, his family.

Grandad, we will all miss you every second, of every minute, of every day. The smartest man I ever met, and the most stubborn, but always full of love for his family.
I'll miss your stories, I'll miss hearing you tell me about "Boney Quarton" over and over again, the same excitement and happiness each time.
Although Dementia may have taken some of your memories, it didn't take your soul, your humour, your personality. I'll always remember you reading me the food menu in your loud teachers voice atleast 5 or 6 times. I'll miss pulling silly faces in the mirror with you, or you asking why I was smiling so much, I hope now you see its because I was so happy to be with you.
I'll always treasure seeing you on my birthday, the last time you told me you loved me too.
I am, and always will be proud to tell people you were my Grandad. You may not have been completely sure exactly who I was at times, but you knew I was yours.
Sleep well, until we meet again.
I love you with all my heart, always and forever.
