Ralph Edward Salyers

Ralph Edward Salyers Sr. CASTLEWOOD, Va. Ralph Edward Salyers Sr., age 64, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 23, 2013, at his home. Ralph was born Oct. 11, 1948, in Scott County, a son of the late Vernon Edward Salyers and Ruth Dingus Salyers. He was a disabled truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Linda Mullins, Paula Crabtree and Robin Compton. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Edith Lee Davis Salyers; one daughter, Samantha Salyers Glovier and husband Jerry, Castlewood; two sons, Ralph Edward Salyers Jr., Castlewood and Arthur Albert Salyers, Castlewood; two grandchildren, Ashley Victoria Glovier and Joseph Alexander Salyers; one sister, Theresa Brown West, Castlewood; and one brother, Jimmy Van Davis Salyers, Honaker, Va. The funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, in the Combs Funeral Service chapel with Bro. Fred Dingus and the Rev. Arville Dingus officiating. Burial will follow in the Glovier Family cemetery at St. Paul. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
