Ralph Asa Semones

SEMONES MOUNT AIRY - Mr. Ralph Asa Semones, age 85 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, November 07, 2008 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. Mr. Semones was born in Carroll County, VA July 12, 1923 to Giles and Laura Hall Semones. He served our country in the United States Army during WWII, was retired from the United States Postal Service after more than twenty years of service and was a member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving is his wife, Hazel S. Semones of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Steve McKnight of Mars Hill; Linda and Gary Wofford of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Donna Wofford and Sandy King of Spartanburg, SC; Alen McKnight of Cary; great-grandchildren, Kyle Wofford, Amanda Wofford, Matthew King and Joshua King, all of Spartanburg, SC; Emma McKnight and Jeffrey McKnight of Cary; and a sister, Audrey Ogle. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Haymore Memorial Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Robert McCrary. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery with Military Honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Mt. Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436.
