Ralph Kay Sewell, 72, of Driggs, Idaho, passed away April 25, 2017, at Teton Valley Hospital. He was born on May 29, 1944, in Driggs, Idaho. He was the youngest child of seven children born to Perry Arthur and Merle Josephine Sewell.
His father and uncle owned a car dealership in Driggs and at an early age he would go with his father and watch and work in the shop. This was where he learned what made cars run and he was soon very good at fixing them. Later, as a hobby, he started rebuilding old cars.
He lived his whole life in Driggs, where he learned to ski, golf, fish and hunt. His favorite was fishing and he was very good at it. He graduated from Teton High School, and went on to receive an associate degree from Ricks College and then attended BYU. He left school to come home and work with his father at Grand Teton Motors, the Ford dealership. In 1996, he built and opened his own auto repair shop that he ran until his passing.
Ralph was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by two brothers; Gene (Sonja) Sewell of Rexburg and Jay Grant "Sam" (Darla) Sewell of Driggs, and two sisters; May Platzke of Bellvue, Washington, and Sharon (Jay) Jackson of Salt Lake City, Utah and many numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 1, at the Driggs LDS Stake Center, with Bishop Tom Hill officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Driggs Cemetery.

Our sincere condolences to the entire Sewell family. Ralph, who my sister and brother referred to as "Peach," was one helluva guy, friend, and mechanic. He will be sorely missed by many.
