Vanek, Agnes J. (Hottovy), fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on February 20, 2008. Loving wife of 62 years of the late Ollie C. Vanek; dear mother of Dr. Ben (Cissy) Vanek, Ginny (Jack) Mika, Dr. Mel (Eileen) Vanek and Joyce (the late Dr. Steve Nielsen) Vanek. Agnes was the proud grandmother of Dr. Ben (the late Michelle) Vanek, Chris (Rob) Penland, Susan (Greg) Whitson, Jenny (Mike) Gilbert, Dan (Sara) Vanek, John (Amy) Mika, Tamara (Scott) Carlton, Jeff (Anne) Mika, Bob (Melissa) Vanek, Dr. Scott (Emily) Vanek and Dr. Steve (Julie) Vanek and great-grandmother of 24 children; aunt, cousin and friend of many. She was the last surviving member of 13 children of John E. and Wilomina Hottovy. Agnes was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Women's Organization, a member of the St. Louis Baseball Cardinals PinchHitters and the MO Rep. of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America. She was a huge Cardinal Fan and an avid rose gardener.Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois on March 8, 2008 at 9:15 a.m. to St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum. Masses preferred or donations to the Alzheimer's Society appreciated. In parlor March 7, 4-8 p.m.
