Seldom does a week go by that I don't still think of Ralph. He came to my parents house and led me to the Lord in 1973. He baptized me and performed the wedding ceremony for Shae and myself that still holds fast after 42 years! He was the prince of preachers and illiteration. His favorite passage was Acts Chapter 2. I remember many, many things he said and still share some of the jokes he told. They still bring laughs. Ralph had a heart of gold and I miss him a lot. Just happened to be on the web today and thought of him and checked this out. He is alive of course.....we just miss him. Best to all the family.

Marilyn, Tonda, and Lisa,
I just learned about your father's homegoing and wanted to express to you how very special he was to me. He was the first pastor to invite me to present my monologue on Lottie Moon outside of my own church home at Reedy Fork Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and all of you so much and proved it by his actions every single day. I continuously "ran in to him" when I lived in Greensboro as he served as interim pastor in a multitude of churches after his retirement from Rocky Knoll. My memories of him will always be vibrant and positive within my own heart and mind.

Marilyn, Tonda and Lisa, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your loss is Heaven's gain. Pastor Webb was a wonderful man. He came to my grandparents house at around 10pm to help lead me to Christ when I was 6 years old. He was a tremendous man, whom will be missed greatly.

Marilyn, Tonda & Lisa,
I was so sorry to hear that your Father passed away. He will always be "preacher Webb" to me. As a little girl, I remember all of you visiting my Uncle Athus and Aunt Mary Key. That was so much fun to play with you girls and all the cousins. Your Mother and Father were such lovely people. Your whole family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,

Girls, you had a great dad. You were his first priority. I loved listening to Ralph's jokes and how he picked on people. He was interim at our chuch and also did our revivals. After which he would have everyone on their feet. I visited with him a few times and knew last week his time was coming. You have had your dad for a long time. Mine passed in 1985 when I was 28. May God protect you in the coming days. Everyone will say it gets better. That's not true, it doesn't get better but it gets easier as you think of all the good times you had with him. May God bless you all.

Lisa, (Marilyn and Tonda, whom I have never had the opportunity to meet) We will miss this great man of God, both as a friend and our pastor when he served at Stevens Memorial. I also had opportunity to talk and share with him frequently when I was working at Piedmont Baptist Assoc. He held the funeral service for our precious daughter, Renee, in 2006. We will never forget the love and comfort he showed us during that time. Pastor Webb had such a wonderful sense of humor and always looked on the bright side. He always seemed to have a twinkle in his eyes. He was one of the special people in our lives. Our loss is Heaven's gain! May God comfort his family and friends as we say good-bye for a short while, remembering we have the assurance of being with him one day in Heaven!

Marilyn, Tonda and Lisa - Ralph baptized me (36 years ago), married Shae and I (35 years ago), baptized Rebekah (27 years ago), married Rebekah and Mike (12 years ago) and preached my Dad's funeral (5 years ago). Ralph sat in our living room the day after I got saved and spoke to me "Jeff, are you asking to be saved, or have you been saved" because that was the most important thing to Ralph. I have used many, many of his analogies and sayings over the years (You can trust your Heart to the Man who made the stars), handed out tracts he gave me, and sat in some of the best preaching messages I will ever attend. He preached 'par excellance' and was the best expositor I've ever hear or seen. And Ralph wept, laughed, shouted and spoke softly. I consider him a friend as well. Mom and Dad loved him so very much. I was at the RK Homecoming just 6 months ago - Shae and I are so glad to have been there. Ralph "The Captain has called for your ship to dock, don't delay, put in port now" and Ralph obeyed. The voyage is over. The sails have been folded and the angelic crew has been reassigned.Sailor Ralph Web is in port. Hear the sound, its a crowd running toward the dock. HIs wife and boy at the front. He made it, praise God, Ralph is home.

Oh, Marilyn, sing it - What a day it will be when my Jesus sets me free..... Rev. Webb, (Mr. Ralph to me), is free of this old world and has gone to be with our Savior. He and Ms. Merlie are dancing on the streets of gold and Mark is clapping and laughing with his mama and daddy. No more sickness, no more sorrows... It's a sad time yet it's a happy time. God bless you all. Love and prayers, Pat (Reynolds) Crosby

What a man of the Lord who loved to preach the gospel to help others to be where he is today. Thank God he don't have no more pain and just in short to say Another Solider has gone Home to be with our Lord where we all long to be. God bless the family and you are in my prayers

Preacher Webb was a good friend to both of my parents and had a kind and gentle heart. I had the opportunity to get to know him while my dad was in the hospital. He will be greatly missed. May the love of God, which he shared will all he met, give you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Please accept my sympathy in the passing of your father. He was such a wonderful person who did so much for my family. Mama & Daddy (Pauline & Coy Peele) loved him more than I can say. I know they are all singing with the angels now. Peace of the Lord be with you all.

I really appreciate Ralph Webb. He was a wonderful preacher/ My son was saved under his ministry. He was always there, when we needed him, at the hospital or where ever. He will be missed but I know Heaven welcomed him with open arms as did his dear wife.

My heart is heavy since I heard of your fathers death. We were both in Wesley Long Hospital, next door to each other in November. He was so sick, but the days he felt better he would stop by my room and had prayer for me.
Ralph loved to travel and I had the opportunity to take several trips abrod with his group.
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Ralph was a special person, a good friend, and a great preacher of the gospel! He has been our friend for many years, ever since he was in Gastonia, NC, at Victory Baptist Church. We loved him and his wife very much. He preached our last revival at Martin Avenue Baptist Church and did a great job! He stood for the Word of God and preached it for so many years. He will be missed by us and so many people whose lives he touched! He is with the Lord now and is enjoying the blessings of God and his family who had gone before. We love you, Ralph. Your Dad was a very special man. He was a great preacher. He was kind and gentle. He will be greatly missed. My best times were at Rocky Knoll where we all played together, prayed together and worshipped together. Your Dad is now with your Mom and your brother and they are all in the presence of the Lord. How wonderful!!!!
We will keep all of your family in our prayers during this difficult time.

Marilyn, I was so saddened to hear about the passing of your Dad. I have wonderful memories as a child growing up with you and your family. Ralph and Merlie were such a comfort to me and my Mother when my Daddy passed on March 28, 1970. Ralph was truly a man of God and will be missed by many.

It would require me writing a book to tell how much this man has ment to me and my family. This was truly a man of God. He not only preaced his sermons, he lived them every day.

I shall miss your dad tremendously. Since he came to serve as Minister at Pleasant Grove, I, as well as my entire family, have come to love Ralph tremendously. He very quickly became an important part of our family. My mom, Ada Ward, looked forward to his visits at the nursing home each week and has missed him so much since he became sick. She always asks about him whenever I go to see her and prayed for him daily. She was very saddened when I told her yesterday of his passing. I have never met such a minister of the gospel. Not only did he talk the talk, he walked the walk - even unto death. There will not be a day that goes by that I will not think of him and smile. I will miss his encouragement, his quick wit and the testimony of his life. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Melba York (Greensboro, NC)
