April 22, 1931 - January 3, 2025

Ramon C. Lopez passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, in Sacramento, California, at the age of 93. Born on April 22, 1931, in Bakersfield, California, Ramon spent the majority of his life in Sacramento, where he built a legacy of hard work and dedication to his family and community.

Ramon devoted over 40 years of his career to the railroad industry, where his skill and commitment were evident to all who worked alongside him. A man of many talents, he was known for his ability to fix almost anything and for his craftsmanship with welding, often creating items that reflected both utility and artistry.

In his younger years, Ramon was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in camping and occasionally hunting. These pursuits reflected his love for nature and adventure.

Ramon shared a remarkable 71-year marriage with his beloved wife, Carmen Lopez. Together they raised six children: Stella Lopez, Sylvia LaBare, Gloria Ehlbrecht, Rachel Fassnacht, Ramon Lopez II, and Sara Lopez. His family was the cornerstone of his life and a source of immense pride.

A visitation will be held at Saint Mary's Chapel on January 22, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow on-site to celebrate Ramon's life and the memories he created with those who knew him.

Ramon's legacy of love, resilience, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those he leaves behind.

Your Husband/Dad´s passing is so saddening. Has to be so tough and hopefully you´re able to cope at least a little bit ... if that´s possible. Personally he always treated me so well -- friendly and engaging. The thing that is so memorable about him was the way he and his wife Mrs. Lopez installed into everyone the concept of what "family" is ... and then put that into practice. There is not one family I know that embraces "Family" so totally as do you Lopez´s. No question. And that has been forever ... with all the family activities, get-togethers, and just general support. The Lopez family is the gold standard, and it comes from the top. Thinking of all you today.
