COOK, Ramona Yvonne With very heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ramona Yvonne Cook (nee Phinney), 3 months shy of her 90th birthday. Mom was surrounded by the love of her children when the angels called her home at Sunnyside Nursing Home in Kitchener on May 10, 2018. Loving mother of Brian (Cathy), Shirley (Les), Roberta (Morris) and Colin (Marnie). Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Graham), Aaron, Hailey (Jordan), Keaton, Beth (Jason), Ian (Jeni), Craig (Linzi), Hollie, Ramee (Mark), Emilee and Adam, and treasured great-grandmother of six. She was predeceased by her parents Rollie and Daisy Phinney, her sister Beulah Delaney and her former husband Frank Cook. Born in Hudson, Massachusetts on August 6, 1928, Ramona grew up with her family in Sackville, New Brunswick and moved to Ontario with her parents as a young adult. She worked at Galt Malleable Iron and then Hoffman La Roche, from where she retired at 65. Ramona was an active member of her church community and a faithful volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society. She enjoyed tole painting, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all. Private cremation has taken place. Ramona's family will receive relatives and friends at Forward Church, 455 Myers Road, Cambridge, on Thursday, May 17th from 9:30-11:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer Society of Waterloo Wellington would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to the amazing staff at Sunnyside Home (Shantz Hill) for their love, care and support.
