Randal Lee Fournier, 63, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on September 24, 2023. Randy was born on February 23, 1960, in Springfield, Vermont. He was a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend.

Randy lived the last 10 years in the Spinal Cord Unit of the Veterans Administration in New Mexico. Despite being a paraplegic due to a spinal cord injury in the late 1990s. Randy never stopped caring for others spiritually and mentally. He was a compassionate and kind-hearted individual who touched the lives of many.

Randy is survived by his sisters, Kathleen Mack of Baltimore, Vermont, and Joanne (Jody) Jarvis of Middlebury, Vermont, as well as his brother, Arthur Fournier of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland. He also leaves behind three nephews and four nieces. Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Irene (Trula) Fournier, his mother, Beulah Fournier, and his father, Arthur F. Fournier Sr.

Randy graduated from Springfield High School in 1978 and went on to serve in the US Marine Corps until 1979. After his military service, Randy pursued a career that included employment at Yellowstone National Park and several construction companies in Lafayette, Colorado. He was dedicated and hardworking in his professional endeavors.

Randy worshipped at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His faith was an important part of his life and provided him with strength and guidance. He was also an ordained priest in the Aaronic Priesthood.

In his free time, Randy enjoyed skiing and camping during his younger years and took pleasure in hiking the hills of Vermont on overnight excursions. Randy had a special hobby of working on cars, and he could often be found tinkering with them on evenings and weekends. Randy was a life-long learner, with interests in business, medical professions, and law. He had a deep love for animals, particularly his Service Dog, Wrigley.

Funeral services for Randy will be scheduled in Spring 2024, with internment taking place at Hartland Village Cemetery in Hartland, Vermont. The Trujillo Family Funeral Home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association. Randy had a compassionate heart and supporting this cause would honor his memory.
